The San Diego Union-Tribune recently licensed the BURT SYSTEM to manage Packaging & Distribution activities. The Union-Tribune will deploy the BURT SYSTEM, along with technologies from other mailroom vendors, during a project planned for the third quarter of 2011.

Burt Technologies of Evergreen, CO will facilitate the manufacture of The Union-Tribune daily and TMC publications. The Union-Tribune will license a suite of BURT SYSTEM modules that includes PackagingManager, LineManager, DistributionManager, ReportManager and BURT Open Interface.

San Diego Union-Tribune Project Manager Greg Johannsen indicated “We feel that the BURT SYSTEM will allow us to increase both the volume and complexity of the products we produce in-house. The recent in sourcing of our TMC product demonstrated the need for a more powerful system that we could utilize to produce additional complex runs with limited resources. The BURT SYSTEM will grow with us.”
