QueueManager

Applicable in both the single-user and multi-user configurations, most tasks may be scheduled for deferred execution and processed "off-line" without interruption of the local workstation.

    • "Batch" and system maintenance tasks such as scheduling publications, that might otherwise tie up the workstation or the entire system for a period of time, may be scheduled for execution at a specific time on a specific date, freeing up the workstation for other tasks.

  • Job History

    • Completed jobs remain in the queue until they are deleted, allowing the operator to amass job completion times for reference purposes.

PostalManager

The BURT PostalManager™ provides complete support for postal-delivered products within the BURT PackagingManager™, including Postal Form 3602 and 8125.

    • Allow for the creation and maintenance of applicable profile information, including bulk mailing permit information, permit numbers, and post offices.

  • Rate Calculations

    • Are determined by the single piece and total weight of materials to be mailed based upon the weights on record in PackagingManger for the preprint versions contained in each packet. Rates are calculated by cross-referencing the applicable profiles described with the determined product type and packet weight.

  • Reports & Forms

    • Facsimile versions of Postal Form 3602 for each postal station/packet combination, audit reports with supporting detail upon which each 3602 is based, and numerous supporting reports are available upon demand.

PressManager

The BURT PressManager™ is fully integrated with the BURT PackagingManager™, allowing press orders to be prepared and tracked using the same up-to-date circulation draw used for packaging.

AdManager

BURT AdManager™ enhances the BURT PackagingManager's™ insert order entry features to include billing-specific information, as well as an interface, with the advertising billing system.

Contract information may be optionally maintained, or the information necessary to allow the rate calculations to be performed by the billing system may be captured.

User-defined fields can capture the information you feel important, not just what the system supports.

Adequate security is provided to afford access to this information only to those with a need to know.

LineManager

BURT LineManager™ provides a bi-directional interface between the BURT System™ and packaging control systems via the BURT Open Control Interface (OCI) Microsoft SQL database.. Such an interface provides single-point run management, timely feedback to the BURT System™, and a high degree of accuracy and accountability. Historically, these interfaces have been implemented by exchanging text files in a common shared folder on the BURT server. LineManager™ may be seamlessly integrated with computerized packaging control systems, including General Electric Automation Systems, EnterNET's CSN-NT and NewsCom from Quipp, and MiraSert from Miracom. The system also supports legacy interfaces with GMA®’s WinLincs™ and Lincs™ inserter control system.

With BURT LineManager’s™ interactive interface with PackagingManager, job setup information can be placed in the job queue at any time. Individual jobs can be re-sequenced, tracked while in progress, monitored for satisfactory completion, and reassigned between packaging lines while production is in progress. PackagingManager provides an historical summary of the wealth of production statistics gathered by the control system. BURT LineManager™ fully supports production reality, including production of multiple packages as well as those for disparate publication dates.

DistributionManager

The BURT SuperManifest™ provides unmatched flexibility. Referencing PackagingManager's packaging information, DistributionManager completes the distribution process through the preparation of the trip, drop and carrier level manifests traditionally prepared from the circulation system. Since DistributionManager can reference exactly what Packaging has produced, disparities in quantities and bundle counts are eliminated. Seamless integration with PackagingManager means bundle sizes, preprint content, jackets and page counts are immediately available.

PackagingManager-EL

A full-featured entry-level implementation of the premier package planning tool in use today. The BURT PackagingManager-EL™ provides core packaging functionality from a single workstation, and allows for download of circulation draw, direct entry of insert orders and full-featured production planning.
